And the Award for First Moriarty to Visit Colorado Goes To ....

Friday evening Eric and I headed up to Breckenridge to meet up with my cousin Steve.  Steve and his buddies had rented a condo for the weekend right on the mountain so of course we were going to take advantage.  Also this made Steve the first Moriarty to come visit Colorado.  That's right Moriarty family, I'm keeping track.
After a night of reminiscing, potent potables and trying to sneak into the heated pool, we were up and on the slopes before 9:30am the next day.  Though the forecasted high of the day was 1 degree Farenheight, we had a great day of riding.  The sun was out and the lines were short.  The upper bowls were open so we gave 'em a try.  It was my first time riding through some untouched snow and it was superb.
Even though we got off the slopes around 2:00 to watch the Broncos game Eric, Steve and I were able to hit all 4 peaks.  Thawing out in the "half-time hot tub" during the game was a perfect end to a fantastic day of riding.
Unfortunately, Eric and I had to hightail it out of there before the game was over to get back to Denver to meet up with Shannon and Jadelynn and so Eric could make it back for work.  We heard it was a doozy of an ending though.  Literally, we listened to the ending on the radio.  Needless to say Eric was a mess and on the edge of inconsolable.
The gals are on their way from CT to Arizona and are stopping in Denver for a few days to break up the trip.  Also, John and Katie have arrived taking our house from 3 residents to 7.  Denver, Boom!

Trophy Wives in Vail

Spent Sunday and Monday up near Vail hanging with a bunch of crazy Australians.  One we knew, the rest we now know.  Our buddy Mike is renting a place right in Eagle-Vail for the whole month of January so we had to make a trip up and visit.  Most would call him and his friends ski bums but they call themselves Trophy Wives (all but one are male).  It was great to see an old friend and make some new ones while spending Sunday boarding at Beaver Creek.  They generously let us spend the night at their apartment a mere 5 minute drive from the mountain.
After a night at reminiscing, drinks at Loaded Joe's (the local tavern), a nice open mic set by Eric and a near brawl over a game of pool we did not make it out to the mountain by 7am the next morning.  In fact we didn't make it out at all Monday and drove home for work that night.
Awesome time, hoping to return soon.   Australia Day is January 26th .....

Sleepin Aint Easy

After 3 and a half months of noble and selfless duty, my air mattress has begun to give out.  I'm not sure what the official problem is but it seems to be growing.  The lump is getting larger by the day and though I kind of like it, I assume this means that our days together are numbered before it grows too large for its own good.  The bed has served its purpose well and has stayed inflated as well as any snoozer could ask for.  Thank you air mattress ... time to get bed shopping.

Side Note: once again not on the schedule for free drinks at the Front Porch this month.  Fricken Erick made it though.  Yes, Erick with a "ck" made it before Evan.  This is getting ridiculous.

Potential visitors check for your name in the upcoming weeks!  The Front Porch Calender

Bro code #122: A bro is always psyched, always.

In anticipation of our best friend driving across country, Evan and I have been doing nothing to get ready for him. But that's right ladies and gents, were adding a new member to the Magic Dojo, he's 5 foot 3, 230 lbs.....John! Jacob! Brow!! Some say his name is my name too.

Mr. Brow and his lovely girlfriend Katie are set to take off on the long trek across most of the country on January 8th I think (have not confirmed dates). They will face the wild dusty roads and animal life as they head west to Colorado. Just in time for the green rush of 2013! We wish you the best in your quest and may you learn the rest.

Anywho, really have just been working at the bar and snowboarding lately. Now that we are set up and both have jobs we can get to some free livin! The next few months should be fun.
My roomate Alex and I are also starting a band. Were called Somatic Nomads. Stay tuned for some hits.
Bob weir acoustic show was fantastic!
