MAS PAPAS POR FAVOR!!!

So it has almost been a month of van livin' for this guy and what a month it has been! I moved to Jackson not really knowing what would happen when I got there. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and know that things will always work out. The uncertainty of this move made it a harder move to make but also exciting. The possibilities are endless. Uncertainty is what makes a great story. I didn't know anyone but with over a billion people on this earth how can we ever feel lonely?

For about three weeks now I have been working at the Town Square Tavern bar and grill right in the center of Jackson. Along with the bar work, I will be taking the muskrat crew (ages 8-11) down the river starting June 17th for the Jackson Hole Kayak Club and, depending on whoever wants to learn how to SUP and Kayak, I will be doing some instructing on the river for Rendevous River Sports.

Perks of the jobs: At the bar I get some discounts on food and beverages but most importantly I get to work with a wide variety of  great people with different personalities. When I am food running I work in the kitchen and lets just say my beginner spanish is becoming pretty good. This will prepare me nicely for a trip to South America. (although that trip will be filled with french fries and onion rings). As a bar back and door  man I get to work with some very experienced bar tenders which is cool.

Working out of Rendevous I get to use whatever boat to instruct and most importantly I get to paddle with some of the best paddlers I have come across. I cannot wait to learn more from them.

Now I know what you all are thinking, "well gosh Eric, you live in a van and that's really awesome but how do you shower, wash your clothes, relieve yourself when nature calls and write your blog?"

Answer: I dont pay rent or electricity so I bought a yoga membership and passes to the rec center. Campgrounds also have showers and facilities when I am there. I use clothes sparingly but there is a laundry mat in town. I got a library card (Just took out a how to banjo DVD!) and baby wipes help.

The downside to livin' in a van is that its kind of hard to have people over. However, if anyone is in the area and would like a tour of the place please let me know, I would be happy to have you!
